How I Decorated My Apartment for Christmas … on a Budget

Let me start off my saying my apartment is super small and I really only decorated my living room for Christmas. I don’t go crazy and do my whole apartment for holidays. The living room is really the only room I decorate.

I’ll start with my tree. My tree was gifted to me from a company that I’m working with on Instagram, so I’m super grateful for that. Had I not been sent a tree, I probably would’ve bought a $40 tree from Walmart, let’s be real.

I bought ornaments last year from my job after Christmas when they went on clearance for $1. I only bought 4 boxes which gave me about 32 ornaments, so I bought a decent sized pack from Marshalls. Most of my other stuff came from Michaels because hello, employee discount. I used some beaded garland, ribbon, and a bow. I also cut up some gold sparkly floral pieces and scattered them in the tree, and then used some icicle ornaments from Target. I put a tree collar around the bottom and I’m seriously obsessed with how it looks. That’s it for my tree. I think I did pretty good considering how beautiful it turned out.

On my coffee table I just have a gold tray, a vase that I had and filled with mini ornaments and decorative filler, and two candle holders that my mom got for me last year. I LOVE the way this looks, especially on my white coffee table.

For the TV stand, I bought a bunch of fall floral (on clearance at 80% off) and used the white and cream colored flowers in a vase that I already had. I don’t even know what to call this other piece I got, but I’m obsessed with it. And just a Rae Dunn “merry” sign on the shelf.

On the other side of my living room, I have these crates that I turned into shelves. I have a lantern that was technically fall decor on clearance and I just put a $2 candle from Walmart in it, and then a sparkly tree on the top shelf. Then another weird piece and a Rae Dunn “merry” sign for the second shelf. For the third shelf I filled some candle holders that I already had with leftover decorative filler and then put this “hello winter” sign from the Target dollar spot. I have a metal bucket (also fall clearance) on the bottom shelf with some Rae Dunn ornaments.

So that’s it! I seriously love how everything turned out and I’m obsessed with all the gold accents.

What colors do you lean towards for Christmas decor? Let me know! Maybe I’ll change it up next year.

XO, Allison
