Life by Allison

Ahhh, its been quite some time since I blogged last. I miss it so much. So I’m starting again. I restarted once already before, but I really wanna get back into it. Although my life is still pretty busy, I think it’s calmed down since the last time I blogged. I trashed all my old blogs. I might discuss similar topics going forward. I’m not sure what I really want to do with my blog, but I do like having the outlet.

So I guess I’ll start with a life update. The past year has been pretty crazy. I moved to Syracuse, the city where I went to school, to finish up my degree. Since I changed my major, it set me behind and I needed to stay an extra year. I was only part time, so while I was trying to juggle classes and homework, I was working 2 part time jobs cause hello, your girl has rent to pay. My weeks were always crazy. I was going 7 days a week with no days off. I always had something going on between classes and working.

I was set to finish in May. In the middle of April, I had a random thought about moving back to Buffalo. I truly wasn’t happy in Syracuse and I figured since I was about to finish school, my lease was up in July and it was perfect timing. So I called my parents who both thought it was a good idea and my decision was made. Once I finished finals, I started looking for apartments and within 2 weeks I had signed a lease. I was so excited to be back with my family.

So then I moved, right before the fourth of July. When I got the keys, I realized the rugs were in terrible condition and I told the office I wanted them replaced. That kind of hindered my excitement. I wasn’t unpacking half of my stuff because I had to move it out of the way for the rugs to get done. The installation date for the rugs got pushed back twice and I really thought it was never gonna be a comfortable place for me to live.

Finally, this past Monday, the rugs got done. I used the weekend to build furniture and unpack pretty much all of my stuff. I still have to buy a few more things, but I am so happy with how it all turned out. The rugs definitely transformed the apartment and it really feels like home.

In the midst of dealing with all of that, I ended up getting a new car! I knew once I moved I was gonna get a new car, since mine was only for college anyways, but I was hoping to get settled into my place first. Exactly a month before I moved, I was on my way for an oil change and my check engine light came on. It ended up costing me $1300 and I was done. I told my mom that the following weekend I wanted to get a new car and I did. I got a brand new 2020 Kia Sportage and I’m in love with it.

I think that’s all the updates I have right now. Since my life is finally on a “normal” Monday through Friday, 8-5 schedule, I’m gonna be putting a lot more effort into my social media. And I am SO excited about it. Stay tuned.
