Self Improvement

Life has been so crazy lately. Between COVID, finishing my degree, moving, changing jobs and getting a new car I feel like I can barely keep up.

That being said, I really want to focus more on myself and my goals so I was super excited to find out about September being National Self Improvement Month.

I have so many random goals I want to accomplish and new habits I want to create so I’m hoping writing them out will hold me accountable. I’ll definitely be doing a follow up post at the end of the month to see how I did.

Focus on my health and fitness

My first goal is to focus on my health and fitness. Don’t get me wrong, I really switched things around since I started working with a coach (read my blog post). I lost over 10 pounds and I’m the healthiest I have ever been. I do feel myself slacking lately, though. So I’d love to cut back on the treats, eat more veggies and get all my workouts in. My gym actually just opened up last week so that’s been super helpful too.

More self care

I used to be the self care queen. I’m talking nails and eyebrows always done, face masks every other night. I’ve definitely put all that to the side the last few months. I’m going to bring back Mask Monday and do a face mask each week!

Reading

I’ve been saying forever that I want to start reading for fun again. It’s so hard while you’re in school because you’re constantly reading for class and you never really want to read for fun. But now that I’m done with school I definitely would like to start reading again. I have an entire bookshelf full of self help books that I haven’t even started.

Budgeting

This is something I used to talk a lot about and get a lot of questions on. I do follow The Budget Mom’s method and I love it. But since moving I find myself spending unnecessary money so I’d really like to get strict on that again.

Routine

Probably my #1 goal is to stick to a routine. It’s really the small things that make the difference in your daily routine. For example, I usually load the dishwasher in the evenings and let it run overnight. If I don’t do it one night, I’m scrambling to do it in the morning and it throws my whole morning off. I really want to get better at stuff like that.

I’m really hoping that writing all this out helps me and I will definitely update y’all at the end of the month. Happy September and make sure you take some time for yourself!
